Talking gut health with Rob Hobson
Award-winning nutritionist, This Morning regular and Sunday Times best-selling author, Rob Hobson has nearly two decades of experience in the health and nutrition space and is joining the Bio-Kult team as our new brand ambassador. We sat down to speak with him about gut health and how he feels to be part of the team.
Hi Rob, tell us a bit about yourself!
I’m a licensed nutritionist with a Master’s Degree in Public Health Nutrition and I have a real passion for health, nutrition and in particular gut health and how it plays a really important role in your overall health.
Why are you excited to be a Bio-Kult ambassador?
I’m so excited to be working with Bio-Kult because they really understand the importance of gut health as a factor in taking care of your whole body. And I think the fact that they have 30 years of research and expertise shows they really know their stuff. I’m so pleased to be a Bio-Kult ambassador.
You mentioned the role of gut health and how you believe it plays an important role in overall health. Can you tell us a bit more about that?
I’ve spoken for a long time about the link between gut health and overall body health. And research is continuing to show the link between the gut and your immune system, your sleep, your mental health - so many things. I think for a lot of people when they start taking gut health seriously it unlocks so much for them about the rest of their body.
How do you feel taking Bio-Kult has helped you?
I’ve really started to notice a difference - I feel so energised! I use it now as part of my regular gut health plan.
What are your top tips for everyday gut health?
Well, of course taking a live bacteria supplement is the quick and easy way of getting loads of good bacteria to your gut in one go. And Bio-Kult is great because it’s got that combination of live bacteria and vitamins and minerals to give your gut everything it needs. I’d also recommend making sure you eat foods with fibres that help gut bacteria to thrive, like like onions, garlic, leeks, bananas, oats and starchy foods like pasta and rice. Another tip I always mention is to not underestimate the impact stress has on your gut. Addressing your mental health is just as important as the food you eat, exercise you take and sleep you get. So make sure you’re getting the support you need and try taking up things like meditation to help keep your mind and gut calm.
